In some circumstances, it can currently take up to 4.5 months to conduct an initial assessment for some complaints, particularly if they are complex. We are doing everything we can to reduce this time. You can find average timescales for each stage of complaint handling across all types of complaints here.

CESPLS Strategic Plan 2012-16

The strategic plan outlines the Commission for Ethical Standards' key objectives for the four-year period from April 2012 to March 2016. It is accompanied by annual Business Plans detailing how we will achieve these objectives. The annual Business Plans are also available on our website. The Strategic Plan was updated in July 2013 to reflect the Public Services Reform (Commissioner for Ethical Standards in Public Life in Scotland etc.) Order 2013.
