In some circumstances, it can currently take up to 4.5 months to conduct an initial assessment for some complaints, particularly if they are complex. We are doing everything we can to reduce this time. You can find average timescales for each stage of complaint handling across all types of complaints here.

Revised statutory guidance on application of the Code - 2020 version

This guidance updates and replaces the statutory guidance issued in March 2019. The guidance has been updated to take account of the coming into force of the Gender Representation on Public Boards (Scotland) Act 2018. The guidance is effective from 29 May 2020.
